ITINERARY
Antananarivo - Andasibe - Manambato - Pangalanes Canal - Tamatave - Antananarivo - Diego - Nosy Be.
DETAIL
Day 1 : Antananarivo - Andasibe
Morning departure from Antananarivo to Andasibe. Upon arrival in Andasibe, transfer to hotel next to the forest. Lunch and then visit at Andasibe-Perinet national park to find some species of lemurs and birds, reptiles. In the evening night walk to spot some nocturnal animals with a park guide (1h). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Andasibe
Morning walk in Andasibe-Mantadia national park. Meet some birds, lemurs (Indri Indri ,...), precious woods ... Visit the Vakona private reserve in the afternoon (lemurs, crocodiles, wild ducks, ...) for 2 h and then back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 : Andasibe - Manambato - Akanin'ny Nofy
In the morning back on the ravinala road to the East. 12km after Brickaville, we will leave the main road to continue on a small muddy track until Manambato. This village is at the beach of Rasoabe Lake which is part of the Pangalanes Canal. At Manambato, meet and boat transfer to Akanin'ny Nofy. During this transfer one can enjoy the beauty of the Canal with its green vegetation and clear water, small villages. At Akanin'ny Nofy, check in. Afternoon visit of the private reserve of Palmarium. This place have a small forest station that holds some more species of wildlife... Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : Akanin'ny Nofy
In the morning, another walk in the reserve of Palmarium. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening, night walk in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 : Akanin'ny Nofy - Tamatave
After breakfast we continue to discover the Pangalanes' Canal during transfer to the city of Tamatave which takes about 3 hours. Picnic lunch. At Tamatave, meet and transfer to the hotel. City tour including local markets, the railway station, museum ... In the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 : Tamatave - Antananarivo - Diego Suarez
Transfer to the airport and flight to Antananarivo and then Diego Suarez in the North. At Diego, meet and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon excursion to the East of the city around the Sakalava bay. Panoramic view, beach, ... Dinner and overnight ath the hotel.
Day 7 : Diego - Amber Mountain
In the morning, after breakfast, drive to the Amber Mountain. After about one hour, check in at the hotel. Start to explore the Amber Mountain national park in search of its wildlife (lemurs, birds, reptiles, ...). Picnic lunch during the day in the park. Late afternoon, come back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8 : Amber Mountain - Ankarana - Ankify
Start driving South in the morning. Stop at Mahamasina to visit the Tsingy of Ankarana national park. With its special panorama, we can meet some more species of lemurs, birds, ... Picnic lunch in the park. After the visit, continuation to Ankify in the afternoon. Arrived at Ankify, check in at the hotel. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9 : Ankify - Nosy Be
Boat transfer to Nosy Be. At Nosy Be, check in at the hotel. Day at leisure. Optional activities available. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 and 11 : Nosy Be
Day at leisure. Optional activities available. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 12 : Nosy be - Antananarivo
Transfer to airport. Flight to Antananarivo. Arriving in Antananarivo, meet and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 : Antananarivo
Depending on the flight schedule, possibility to visit the Ambohimanga palace at about 21km North of the city before transfer to airport for international flight.
End of program.
